Hastamalaka Stotram and HSC Convocation

The 14th HSC Convocation Programme will be held on Sunday 20 December 2026 at Chinmaya International Foundation, Adi Sankara Nilayam, Ernakulam, Kerala. The event is scheduled on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti, at the ancestral maternal birth-home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya.

The Program Includes

Convocation Ceremony with distribution of Certificates by Swami Advayananda
Sampurna Gita Parayana commemorating the Gita Jayanti

The camp on Hastamalaka Stotram will conclude with the Convocation Ceremony.

About Hastamalaka Stotam

A young boy, considered a dullard by the world, revealed his true nature when Sri Adi Sankaracharya asked, “Who are you, my child?”, thereby demonstrating his deep spiritual wisdom. His reply, a profound declaration that he was the eternal Atman, became the Hastamalaka Stotram, a concise masterpiece encapsulating the core essence of Advaita Vedanta. Because the boy expounded the ultimate Truth as clearly as holding a gooseberry (amalaka) in the palm of his hand (hasta), Sri Adi Sankaracharya named him Hastamalaka, accepted him as one of his four principal disciples, and penned a commentary on his composition.
